Dr. Vikas Panwar

Dr. Vikas Panwar serves as the Unit Head and Director of the Department of General Surgery and Robotics, bringing a distinguished background as a surgeon enriched by extensive experience and knowledge. His education and training have been acquired from numerous esteemed institutions globally. In June 2016, Dr. Panwar completed specialized training in Robotic Surgery at Intuitive Surgical in Atlanta, USA. He earned the MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) from Edinburgh, UK, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in the USA. Furthermore, he underwent training in Bariatric Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA, in 2009. Dr. Panwar also holds the MRCP (Membership of the Royal College of Physicians) from Edinburgh, UK, and has been awarded Fellowship by the Indian Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons (FIAGES). He completed his MS in General Surgery at Army Hospital (R&R), affiliated with Delhi University, and received his MBBS from JLN Medical College in Belgaum. With a career spanning 29 years, Dr. Panwar has occupied several prominent roles. He has worked as a Clinical Associate in Gastrointestinal and Colorectal Surgery at Singapore General Hospital and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at SSR Medical College in Mauritius. Additionally, he held the position of Senior Resident in General Surgery and casualty at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and at Lady Hardinge Medical College & Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital, both in New Delhi. Dr. Panwar has a strong interest in Bariatric and Colorectal Surgery, Minimal Access Surgery, and Gastrointestinal Surgery.
