Brief Profile:

Dr. Rajesh Puri is Vice Chairman of Interventional Gastroenterology at Medanta Institute of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences, Gurugram. He has a vast experience of 20 years. Dedicated to the profession with exemplary success in interventional gastroenterology in North India. His expertise focuses on endosonography, colonoscopy, sclerotherapy of varicose veins and esophageal carcinoma. He received the APDW Young Researcher Award and was awarded the Gold Medal by the Honorable President of India. He specializes in endoscopic ultrasound, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. He is an intensive care specialist at the Institute of Intensive Care and Anesthesia. An expert in therapeutic EUS has taught in Denmark and Japan. This modality started in India in 2005 with a handful of doctors familiar with the technique, used mainly in cancer staging and biopsy. A pioneer of this technique in North India taught and trained a large number of doctors by performing 10-15 procedures in a short period of 2-3 days in conferences and seminars in different states enlightening more than 100 doctors. Spreading this knowledge to other doctors across India has benefited patients across the country, allowing them to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment.
