Dr. Puneet Ahluwalia

Brief Profile:

Dr. Ahluwalia serves as the Director of Uro-Oncology and Robotic Surgery. Previously, he held the position of Director of Urologic Oncology and Robotics at the Max Institute of Cancer Care, located in Max Vaishali, Patparganj, and Saket, New Delhi. He is among the select few fellowship-trained robotic surgeons in India, having completed fellowships in Robotic Urology and Uro-Oncology. His extensive experience in advanced robotic surgery for the treatment of urological cancers is derived from leading national and international institutions. He has received advanced training in robotic urology from the University of Miami, USA. Since the inception of robotic surgery in India, he has been performing intricate Robotic Uro-Oncological procedures. To date, he has conducted over 1,000 robotic surgeries as a console surgeon, which include, but are not limited to, Robotic Radical Prostatectomy, Robotic Partial Nephrectomy, Robotic Radical Cystectomy with Intracorporeal Diversion, Robotic Adrenalectomy, Robotic Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection, and Robotic VEIL (Video Endoscopic Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection). He is adept at executing minimally invasive procedures for urological cancers, encompassing laparoscopic and endourological surgeries, in addition to traditional open uro-oncological surgical techniques. Notably, he performed the first Robotic Radical Prostatectomy and Robotic Radical Cystectomy with Intracorporeal Urinary Diversion at a corporate hospital in Uttar Pradesh and played a key role in establishing the Department of Robotic Uro-Oncology at Max Vaishali. Dr. Ahluwalia is one of the few certified proctors for Intuitive Surgical USA (Da Vinci Robots) in the country and has been pivotal in initiating robotic surgery programs at various centers across India. He has also trained numerous distinguished urologists nationwide in complex Robotic Uro-Oncological procedures. Additionally, Dr. Ahluwalia serves as the Program Director for a prestigious one-year clinical fellowship.
