Dr. Pradeep Chowbey

Brief Profile:

Dr. Pradeep Chowbey is recognized as one of the pioneering laparoscopic surgeons in India. He was among the first to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy in North India and has dedicated his career to the advancement, assessment, and promotion of Minimal Access, Metabolic, and Bariatric Surgery within the country. His contributions to laparoscopic surgery mark a significant milestone in the history of medicine in India.

In 1996, Dr. Chowbey founded the Minimal Access and Bariatric Surgery Centre at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, which was the first facility of its kind in the Asian subcontinent. His institute at Max Healthcare was the first in India to receive Center of Excellence accreditations for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, as well as Hernia surgery, from the Surgical Review Corporation, USA (2011-2014). Additionally, the center is recognized as a Global Centre of Excellence in the field of Endosurgery.
