Dr Nitesh Rohatgi is Senior Director of Clinical Oncology at Fortis Memorial Research Centre, Gurugram, and was most recently based at the Oncology Clinic London (Directors of Clinical Oncology), Harley Street, London. He is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and has many publications to his name. He received training in clinical oncology, palliative care and adolescent cancer in England and completed his CCT in 2009.
Dr. Nitesh Rohatgi managed the Mid-Yorkshire NHS Trust breast care team at Leeds Teaching Hospital, where he received his initial training, and worked with the world-famous Prof. He worked with Peter Selby.
One of his main areas of interest is the "Good Life" quality of life of cancer patients and the effects of chemotherapy on it. At LOC, the QOL team was led by Dr. We thank Peter Harper for adding a new dimension to the treatment of chemotherapy-induced toxicity in cancer patients. It has also provided guidance on various aspects of cancer care, including antiemetics, management of neutropenic sepsis and anaphylaxis, and more recently on the role of vitamin D deficiency in oncology.
Dr. Nitesh Rohatgi was invited as a visiting physician to MD Anderson Cancer Center in the USA to share his deep knowledge of the psychology of cancer patients and its impact on their quality of life.
Dr Nitesh Rohatgi's passion for learning led him to undertake two postgraduate courses in medical education at the University of Dundee. He moved on to teaching medicine and faculty at the University of Leeds, where he lectured and supervised medical students. This passion has made him known for his lectures to GPs, GPs, nursing groups and paramedics throughout the Yorkshire area. He recently updated the training program at LOC using the same disk and developed a model to be used by all future branches of LOC.
Dr. Nitesh Rohatgi asked him to return to India with the aim of transforming his research into important aspects of patient care to "the highest possible level of medicine", which he said medicine should be.
