Dr. Manish Baijal

Brief Profile:

Dr. Manish Baijal serves as a Senior Director at the Max Institute of Laparoscopic, Endoscopic & Bariatric Surgery, part of the Max Group of Hospitals. With over 30 years of experience in Laparoscopic surgery, he is recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to Bariatric Surgery, Endoscopic Neck Surgery, and Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery.

Together with his team, he has successfully performed more than 95,000 Laparoscopic surgeries throughout his extensive career. Dr. Baijal has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including the 'Excellence in Bariatric Surgery' award at the India News Health Awards in November 2016. He was also honored with the title of “Surgeon of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery” by the Surgical Review Corporation in the United States.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Baijal is passionate about education and holds the position of Teaching Faculty in Professional Affairs and Clinical Education (PACE) as well as at the Centre of Excellence (COE). He is an Accredited Faculty member of the National Board of Examinations for Post Doctoral Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery and serves as a Faculty Member at the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education in New Delhi. Furthermore, he was a founding member of the Hernia Society of India.

Dr. Baijal has also been instrumental in the development, organization, and editing of the scientific content for the manual titled “Minimal Access Surgery- Guidelines and Recommendations,” published in June 2000. He has received specialized training in Bariatric Surgery from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA.
