Dr. Ganesh K Mani, the Chairman of Cardio-Thoracic & Vascular Surgery at Max Smart Super Specialty Hospital and a recipient of the Padmashri award, is widely acknowledged as a trailblazer in the field of Cardiac Surgery in India.

He has personally conducted over 20,000 cardiac surgeries, achieving an impressive near-zero mortality rate in elective procedures. While serving at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, he introduced the "Beating Heart Coronary Artery Bypass" technique in Delhi in 2000 and has since performed more than 8,000 off-pump CABGs.

Previously, he held the position of Chief Cardiac Surgeon at Railway Hospital in Perambur, Tamil Nadu, as well as at Batra Hospital, Apollo Hospitals, and the Delhi Heart & Lung Institute.

In 1992, he was honored with the 'National Citizens Award' by the then Vice President of India. He also received the 'National Excellence Award' from former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar in 1996.

In 2013, he was awarded the esteemed 'Padma Shri Award' by the Honorable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherji.

Beyond his expertise in Coronary Artery Surgery, he has performed thousands of valve and congenital heart surgeries.

Dr. Mani is dedicated to providing free heart surgeries for underprivileged children through the Rotary Foundation's 'Gift of Life' initiative, with additional support from the Max India Foundation and the Health Education and Research Trust.
