Dr. Amit Chandra

Brief Profile:

Dr. Amit Chandra is one of the most experienced cardiac surgeons associated with Medanta. He received his training in cardiac surgery at the world-renowned Texas Heart Institute in the United States under Dr. Denton A Cooley. He has been practicing cardiac surgery independently since 1998 and since then has performed more than 10,000 cardiac surgeries such as coronary artery and valve surgery.
Although he excels in coronary artery bypass grafting and other surgical procedures, he is skilled in mitral valve repair surgery. He is one of the few surgeons in India who has performed complex mitral valve repairs. He developed new mitral valve repair techniques called Medanta Correction. This technique has been appreciated worldwide and has been presented twice at the Mitral Conclave in New York, USA.
Dr. Chandra is known for his compassionate approach, personalized care and comprehensive treatment plans.
Dr. Chandra is actively involved in research and has published extensively in various national and international journals. He has also been invited to speak at various national and international conferences.
